3 Steps to Earning Your First $5K Online

The statistics for entrepreneurial success are pretty horrible…

 

About 20% of businesses fail within the first year. And at year five, only 50% remain.

 

Despite those dreary stats, about 600,000 new businesses launch every year. There are lots of entrepreneurial dreams out there… Who will make it, and who will fade away?

If you’re an online entrepreneur just starting out, you want to give your business the best possible shot at thriving (and giving you the life you’ve always dreamed of). To do that, you’ll need to be intentional about how you build your business from the very start.

 

That means resisting the urge to just go ahead and launch, thinking that your ideal client is out there somewhere and will somehow find you. 

 

I fell into that same trap 4 years ago when I first started my business online. I scaled without building a solid foundation first and burned way too much time and energy on things that did NOT make me any money. And I had ZERO clients for an entire year. 

 

The fear and frustration I felt were overwhelming. I was afraid I wouldn’t have the steam to keep going and considered quitting before I even really got started. Was THIS what being an entrepreneur was like? Was THIS the life I would live for the next 30 years?

 

After a whole year (yes, a YEAR) of struggle, I finally landed my first client. And in that time, I learned a TON about what to do (and what NOT to do!) when building an online business.

When that offer doesn’t sell or fails to sell consistently, you might be tempted to keep creating offers until something works. But in the process, you’re confusing your audience. And that’s a surefire way to send your sales into a nosedive.

 

So, on day one of the Earn Your First $5K Online masterclass series, we’ll talk about building a successful and profitable foundation for your business so that you know who you’re selling to. 

 

Day 2 (June 3rd): Set up client attraction systems.

 

Have you ever tried to find clients by cold calling and sending a zillion DMs? Yep, me too. Not only is it time-consuming and exhausting, but even if you DO find prospects, it’s pretty unlikely that they’ll be your ideal client. So you may be pouring precious time and effort into people who aren’t even right for your solution.

 

That’s where client attraction systems can help. These tools keep ideal clients consistently flowing into your business, so you no longer have to trade your time to get new leads. 

 

One example: a waitlist. When you’re in-between offers or leading up to a launch, you can direct your audience to a waitlist. This allows you to collect their email addresses and contact them once your offer is live.

 

Systems like this maximize the flow of prospects without having to hustle nonstop and chase after clients.

 

So, Day 2 is all about using systems to attract more clients without having to trade your time or deal with burnout. 

 

Day 3 (June 6th): Resist the myths about building an online business.  

 

For many entrepreneurs, the biggest challenge that they’ll face is their own limiting beliefs. So I want to dispel some of the myths about running an online business that might be keeping you from starting.

 

Myth #1: “If I have an online business, I’ll have to be online ALL THE TIME.”

 

I have clients who tell me they don’t like to be online.

They tell me they don’t like to do live video.

So they reject the whole idea of an online business because it doesn’t align with the way they want to show up.

 

But here’s the truth: you don’t need to be online all the time to have a successful online business! I’ll share ways you can build a thriving business without having to show your face online constantly.

 

Myth #2: “If I invest in coaching, I need to make back my investment before the coaching is complete.”

 

Spending money on coaching is a big step for any entrepreneur. So it’s understandable that we would feel pressure to recoup that investment right away.

 

But really, that’s a lack mindset. Coaching is a long-term investment, and the goal is to give you the tools to build a consistent income so you can avoid those frustrating feast or famine cycles. 

 

Remember, coaching is not a sprint; it’s a marathon. Quick cash is not the goal here. It’s all about setting the stage for long-term success.

 

Years ago, I invested $8K in a 3-month group coaching program. Did I make back that $8K within those three months? No. 

 

But if I had gotten bogged down believing that I was a failure because I didn’t make my money back in that timeframe, I wouldn’t have the thriving business I have today. 

 

I knew it was a long-term investment. And since I completed that coaching program, I’ve made that $8K back multiple times over! So I’d say it was worth it!

 

Start making consistent $5K months.
